Hi. Thanks for clicking through to the website. My name’s Anthony, and I
just want to tell you a quick story about how I like to manage people.
Now, first of all, I’ve got to say that there needs to be a structure in
place, because if you think about the time life, the life cycle of an
employee, we have to recruit them, we need to train them, we need to
motivate them, all the way through to, sadly, sometimes we need to
performance manage them and we need to terminate them. But, hopefully,
we’re trying to develop them and be promoted in our organisations.
Critical to this is people need to know the standards that they’re
performing against, and I think there are two things that are really
important. One, you need to have a position description in place for what
are the areas of focus for that person, and the second thing is a
performance plan. What are the goals that they’re trying to achieve for
each of these areas of focus?
